Our Story
Espasyo began with a simple longing: to create a place where people could arrive as they are. Not as problems to be solved, symptoms to be managed, or stories to be explained perfectly—but as whole people carrying histories, relationships, grief, resilience, questions, and parts of themselves that may have learned to stay hidden.
Our Story
Espasyo was founded by Vanessa Haro, a licensed psychologist, from a deep awareness of the gaps many Filipinos experience when seeking mental health support.
For many people, finding the right psychologist, doctor, or therapeutic approach can feel confusing, inaccessible, or limited by systems that do not always make room for the fullness of a person’s experience. Sometimes care can become focused on symptoms, advice, or what can be explained easily—while the deeper layers of grief, trauma, identity, relationships, culture, and the body remain untouched.
Espasyo was created to offer something different.
We believe healing does not have to happen through conversation alone. Our work honours integrative, trauma-informed, and evidence-informed approaches that respect the client’s pace, nervous system, lived experience, relationships, and inner wisdom.
At the core of Espasyo is Vanessa’s long-standing belief in pakikipagkapwa—meeting another person with dignity, compassion, and a sense of shared humanity.
For us, therapy is not simply about giving advice, teaching strategies, or finding the right words to explain what is happening. It is about relationship. About being met with presence rather than pressure. About becoming curious about what your mind, body, history, and different parts of you may have been carrying—and what they may still be asking for.
We believe people carry more than their pain. They carry strength, tenderness, contradictions, histories, hopes, protective ways of surviving, and an enduring capacity for change. We make room for the whole person—including the parts that feel wounded, uncertain, grieving, protective, hidden, or difficult to name.
If you are looking for therapy that feels less like being analysed and more like being deeply met, you may find something different here.
If you do not want a one-size-fits-all approach or a space where you have to explain yourself perfectly before you can be understood, Espasyo may feel like the kind of care you have been searching for.
There is room here for what does not fit neatly into words. For pain that others may not recognise. For experiences that still live in the body. For identity, culture, relationships, uncertainty, and the parts of you that may have learned to become quiet in order to keep going.
Our approach is warm, relational, non-traditional, and quietly bold. We want psychological care to feel more human, more attuned, more culturally responsive, and more deeply respectful of the person in front of us.
A space where you do not have to perform wellness.
A space where you do not have to arrive with everything figured out.
A space where complexity is welcome.
Because sometimes, what people need most is not another answer.
Sometimes, they need space.

Who We Are
Espasyo is a psychological practice made up of clinicians with different areas of depth, training, and lived perspectives. We come together around one shared intention: to offer care that feels thoughtful, grounded, and genuinely responsive to the person in front of us.
Our team works across psychotherapy, trauma care, grief, behaviour support, addiction and recovery, family and adolescent work, somatic approaches, Brainspotting, and other areas of psychological practice. What connects us is not one method, but the way we work: with presence, curiosity, humility, and respect for complexity.

What We Believe In
We believe meaningful care begins when a person feels they do not have to edit themselves to be understood.
We believe healing can involve the mind, but also the body, relationships, culture, history, identity, and the quieter parts of ourselves that may not yet have words. We believe people can carry pain and strength at the same time, and that therapy should make room for both.
We value choice, pacing, collaboration, and trust. We do not rush people toward answers. We stay curious about what has helped them survive, what no longer fits, and what may be ready to change.

Who We Support
We support children, adolescents, adults, families, and parents across different stages of life.
People come to us for many reasons, including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and disenfranchised grief, dissociation, suicidality, relationship concerns, identity and sexuality, substance use and recovery, postpartum experiences, family difficulties, existential distress, neurodivergence, major life transitions, and experiences of feeling different, unseen, or outside the norm.
You do not need to know exactly what is “wrong” before reaching out. Sometimes, it is enough to know that something in you is asking to be met differently.
